Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has sent a birthday message to Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman turned 26 on Friday, December 20, and was celebrated by fans and his teammates.

Ramos and Mbappe were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The former Spain international joined the Paris-based club in July 2021 on a free transfer from Real Madrid and shared the pitch 51 times with the French superstar.

Ramos posted a picture of himself and Mbappe performing a similar goal celebration in a Real Madrid kit on his Instagram. He wrote:

"Feliz cumplenaos @K.Mbappe! Te deseo siempre todo lo mejor mi brother."

Which, in English, can be translated to:

"Happy birthday @K.Mbappe! I always wish you all the best my brother"

Sergio Ramos who is currently a free agent has been linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabeu amid their injury crisis in defense this season. The 38-year-old spent 16 seasons with Los Blancos, registering 101 goals and 40 assists in 671 games. He last played for Sevilla in the 2023-24 season.

Kylian Mbappe, meanwhile, joined the LaLiga giants in the summer on a free from PSG. The 26-year-old has yet to hit top gear playing in Carlo Ancelotti's setup but has become an integral player for the club. He has scored 13 goals and created three assists in 23 matches so far, helping Los Blancos win the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup this season.

Kylian Mbappe expected to return for Real Madrid's league clash with Sevilla

Kylian Mbappe is expected to be back in the starting XI when Real Madrid lock horns with Sevilla in LaLiga on Sunday, December 22. The Frenchman did not feature in the side's last league game versus Rayo Vallecano (3-3) due to a minor muscle injury.

However, he returned to action against Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup final, scoring in the 37th minute as Los Blancos defeated the Mexican club 3-0. Mbappe played for 61 minutes and was replaced by Brahim Diaz in what looked more like a tactical than forced substitution.

Barring any issues in training, Mbappe is expected to lead the line against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ancelotti's side are third in the standings with 37 points from 17 games and have a game in hand.
