Trent Alexander-Arnold has once again said that his Liverpool contract talks will not be discussed in the media. He has claimed that the contract extensions will be done behind the scenes and there will be nothing from his side until it is signed.
He told Sky Sports via Caught Offside that he was not going to comment on his contract talks at Liverpool. He said:
“I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public – and this one won’t be either."
The defender heaped praise on Arne Slot and claimed that the manager was detail-oriented and he was enjoying his football under the Dutchman. He said:
"The level of detail he has… I find myself smiling about it because that’s the kind of thing that I really enjoy. It’s just football in like a very, very in-depth level. I could tell from the first time I met him that I was going to enjoy playing under him and being a part of this.
"I’m feeling like I’m going to get better and improve and learn so much in such a short space of time and just keep on learning, because I could tell he was football obsessed and the level of detail was incredible.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is in the final months of his Liverpool contract and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. He is free to sign a pre-contract with any foreign club from January as he will in the final six months.
Trent Alexander-Arnold hints at Real Madrid interest amid Liverpool contract talks
Trent Alexander-Arnold spoke to the media earlier this season and claimed that his main aim was winning trophies. He added that the silverware drives him to do better and he wants to win every season.
He was quoted by BBC as saying:
"The most important thing is trophies if I'm honest. I want to win trophies, I am a player who is highly motivated by winning things and being elite. If you have a personality that is an elite athlete who will do anything to win, then that is what drives them.
"We were close to the title last season and we got a cup. The quadruple was on for a while - the signs were there. This season we are looking really good. It is still early days, but we need a lot of consistency and to beat a lot of teams."
Real Madrid are keen on signing Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold as they look to bring in a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.
