“I’d fancy them to score a few goals” - Alan Shearer picks winner of Manchester United vs Leicester clash

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has backed Manchester United to get the better of Leicester City in their upcoming Premier League clash. The two teams lock horns at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 10, in Ruud van Nistelrooy's final game in charge as interim manager.

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim will take charge of the Red Devils the following day. The Portuguese tactician has already been announced as the Premier League giants' next head coach, taking over from Erik ten Hag.

United secured a 5-2 win over the Foxes in the League Cup fourth round in Nistelrooy's first game as Manchester United's interim manager last month. The Red Devils arrive at this weekend's game on good form, having picked up a 2-0 win over PAOK on Thursday, November 7, in the Europa League.

In his column for The Metro, Shearer predicted Nistelrooy's men to score a few goals against Leicester City again.

"Manchester United will have too much for Leicester here. It wouldn’t surprise me if it ends similarly to the Carabao Cup game, as I’d fancy them to score a few goals again with how they play, and how open Leicester are," said Shearer.

"Ruben Amorim won’t be here yet, but I think after Sporting’s win over Man City, there will be an extra buzz in the air at Old Trafford. Home win," he added.

Manchester United are 13th in the Premier League table with 12 points, 13 behind table-toppers Liverpool.
