Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti on if he has any advice for Pep Guardiola

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was recently asked if he had any advice for Pep Guardiola amidst his struggles with Manchester City. The Italian hailed the Spaniard as an 'innovator' and stressed that he had no advice to give.

Guardiola has been one of the most successful managers in football history and is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time. He set the record for four consecutive Premier League title wins after winning it last season. However, Manchester City have struggled massively this season and now have just one win in 10 games across competitions.

Carlo Ancelotti, who has faced Guardiola on several occasions, was recently asked if he had any advice for the Spaniard. The Real Madrid manager said (via Madrid Universal):

“I don’t give him any advice, no. My opinion doesn’t change about him, because of the last results. He has been an innovator. We can control a lot of things, but not the outcome of games.”

Ancelotti has faced Guardiola 12 times in his career, winning four, losing six, and drawing two times. The last time they faced off was in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals last season. Real Madrid won on penalties after two legs and went on to win the trophy.

Carlo Ancelotti comments on whether Real Madrid have been treated harshly this season

Los Blancos were set to compete in seven separate competitions this season, including the UEFA Super Cup, which they won in August. They have also suffered an incredible amount of injuries to key players, including season-ending injuries to Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal. Hence, the workload has seen a drop in their performances this season.

Carlo Ancelotti was recently asked if he believes he and Real Madrid have faced unfair criticism given their situation. He answered (via Madrid Universal):

“We are going to compete and fight for everything, that’s what I know. Things are starting to look up, as you can see. Alaba and Camavinga are almost back.”

When asked if the criticism bothers him, he answered:

"No, it doesn’t. Because it’s not the reality. That’s why it doesn’t bother me.”

Real Madrid only recently saw Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes return from their respective injuries but Kylian Mbappe is now out of action. Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba are expected to return soon though.

Los Blancos are next set to face Rayo Vallecano away in LaLiga on Saturday, December 14.
