Mbappe's exchange with Joan Garcia left Lucas Vazquez in splits

An interesting conversation featuring Kylian Mbappe has surfaced from Real Madrid's match against Espanyol. The Frenchman was seen conversing with opposition goalkeeper Joan Garcia ahead of his spotkick.

Real Madrid hosted Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga on Sunday, September 22. After a goalless first half, the fans were treated to a goalfest with the net bulging five times in the second half.

The visitors took the lead in the 54th minute courtesy an own goal by Thibaut Courtois, but Los Blancos struck back four minutes later through Dani Carvajal. Rodrygo gave the home side the lead in the 75th minute and three minutes later, Vinicius Jr increased their advantage.

It was in the final minutes of normal time when Real Madrid won a penalty after teenager Endrick was brought down in the box two minutes after coming on. Kylian Mbappe stepped up to take the spot kick, but Garcia tried to rattle the 25-year-old.

The hilarious exchange involved Mbappe, Garcia, and Lucas Vazquez as the three players stood on the penalty spot with the goalkeeper trying to distract the former PSG forward.

Mbappe retorted that he didn't understand what Garcia was saying to him. Lip readers reported him as saying:

"I don't understand one f**king word of what you're telling me."

Vazquez found Mbappe's response hilarious and was seen laughing with the Frenchman ahead of the spot kick. The Real Madrid star cooly slotted the ball past Garcia to hand Carlo Ancelotti's side a commanding 4-1 win.

Kylian Mbappe's Real Madrid career picks up pace

Real Madrid's marquee signing of the summer, Kylian Mbappe, scored on his debut for the club in their UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta. In the league, however, the Frenchman failed to score in his first three matches as Los Blancos fell four points behind rivals Barcelona.

Mbappe, however, silenced his critics in the fourth match, scoring both goals in the club's 2-0 home win over Real Betis ahead of the international break.

After returning from international duty, Mbappe has scored in all three matches for the club, including the opener in their first Champions League match of the season. The Frenchman also set up a goal in their win at the weekend while also recording seven key passes in the match, a personal record for him.

With six goals and an assist from eight games this season, Kylian Mbappe's form will be critical for Carlo Ancelotti's side as they aim to make up the four-point deficit to Hansi Flick's Barcelona and retain the La Liga title.
