Lamine Yamal has admitted that he wants Nico Williams to join him at Barcelona. He believes that the Spaniard would improve the squad and hopes to share the dressing room with him.

Speaking to Cadena SER, Yamal sent a message to the Barcelona board and urged them to sign Williams. He claims that the winger has the speed and skills to elevate the attack and said:

"Nico is a great player and I hope to be able to share a dressing room with him. Of course, I think he should decide. We get along really well. Since the first call, he has been like that and he is another friend here. He is one of those wingers who confront you, who beat you with speed. He has audacity, can overwhelm anyone, and that helps any team. If I could, I would sign him."

Nico Williams finished the 2023-24 season with eight goals and 19 assists in 37 matches for Athletic Bilbao in all competitions. Meanwhile, Yamal finished with seven goals and 10 assists in his debut season for Barcelona.

Nico Williams spoke to COPE earlier this summer and stated that he was happy at Athletic Bilbao. He added that he was fully focused on EURO 2024 and said:

"I am very happy at Athletic, it is the club that has given me everything, the one that has bet on me 100%. I am very happy in Bilbao and that is all I have to say. Yes, I am quite clear, in the end, as I have told you, Athletic is my home. I am very happy, and what I want to do is focus on the Euros one hundred percent and for the rest I don't know what's going on."

Apart from Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG, and Juventus have been linked with the Bilbao star. The Spaniard reportedly has a €50 million release clause with his weekly wages set at €200,000 per week.

The Catalan side are actively working to sign him, but are yet to solve their financial crisis.
