Cristiano Ronaldo's long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez recently spoke out against trolls. She dismissed critics in her show, 'I am Georgina', by recalling a story from 2016.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together since 2016, which came to light when paparazzi saw them sharing an intimate moment at Disneyland.
In the second episode of season 3 of the Netflix documentary, she recalled how some girls were trashing her and her sister Ivana's dressing sense.
“When I started seeing Cris and the Disneyland pictures came out, I had Gucci on and my sister had Balenciaga. There were these girls who were really trashing me, saying, ‘Don’t you just love those sneakers that Georgina was wearing,” she recalled the girls trolling her.
Georgina Rodriguez acknowledged her shock at receiving such abuse from strangers.
"It’s shocking how many people out there want to criticize me. I just want to ask them, ‘What’s wrong with you’,” she added.
The show 'I am Georgina' is a documentary on Georgina Rodriguez's life. The third season is running on Netflix after the first two seasons were well-received by the audience.
"I was so relieved" - Georgina Rodriguez on Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez met when the Portuguese superstar played for Real Madrid. She accompanied the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as his footballing career took him to different parts of the world.
Ronaldo signed for Italian giants Juventus in 2018 and spent three seasons in Turin. In 2021, he moved back to England, joining his former side Manchester United in a much-publicized move.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford did not turn out to be as expected. After an underwhelming season-and-a-half where the club didn't win any silverware, the Portuguese ace had his contract mutually terminated ahead of the 2023 January transfer window.
Ronaldo joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, who made him the world's most expensive player with a salary reported to be more than £150 million a season.
Georgina Rodriguez said it was a relief to leave Manchester. TalkSPORT reports the 30-year-old talking about the move in her show.
"When Cris told me he was going to play for Al-Nassr, I was so relieved because I really wanted to leave Manchester," the Argentinian model revealed.
Georgina acknowledged that although she was desperate for the move, the initial few days in Saudi Arabia were not easy for the family.
"It all happened so quickly. At the beginning, I had some ups and downs because we had never lived in a hotel for so long. There were days when I didn't want anyone to see me, but overall, I was very excited," she added.
The hotel where Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez stayed was the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh. Ronaldo and his family stayed in the Kingdom Suite, part of a 17-room booking for his entire entourage, which resulted in a bill of over £250,000.
