"I know where they have pain" – Arne Slot confirms two new injury worries for Liverpool ahead of Manchester City clash

Arne Slot's side defeated Real Madrid 2-0 earlier this Wednesday.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has offered injury updates on defensive pair Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley ahead of the Reds' Premier League home clash against Manchester City.

Earlier on Wednesday (November 27), the Reds registered a 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over holders Real Madrid at Anfield. Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo scored a goal apiece for the hosts in the second half of the contest.

But, Liverpool were forced to substitute off Bradley and Konate in the final stages of the clash. While the 21-year-old full-back was taken off due to an apparent hamstring injury, the latter picked up a knock after a challenge from Endrick.

After the end of the continental encounter, Slot was asked if he knew more about the injuries to Bradley and Konate. The Dutchman replied (h/t Liverpool Echo):

"No, not yet. I know where they have pain, but how bad or how good, it is difficult to judge so close after the game. But, this is what happens during the season. We missed [Diogo] Jota today, we missed Alisson [Becker] today, we missed Kostas [Tsimikas] today, Trent [Alexander-Arnold] couldn't play from the start. This happens."

Slot, who has won 17 of his 19 total games as Liverpool boss, added:

"I'm really hoping both of them are available to play because we want them all available, but if not someone else has to step up and until now, this season everybody I've selected to start has shown up. That's also what is going to happen on Sunday if they can play, and if they can't play, then other ones will start."

The Reds, who are atop the Premier League table with 31 points from 12 matches, will take on second-placed Manchester City this Sunday (December 1).

Carlo Ancelotti says Liverpool deserved to win

Speaking to Movistar, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on his side's UEFA Champions League loss at Anfield. He said (h/t Metro):

"It was a difficult match, as we knew, it was the most difficult stadium in Europe. We competed well until the penalty, but then we dropped a bit in level, we could have made more of the counter-attacks. I liked the team, we competed well against the most difficult rival in Europe and they deserved to win."

The Reds relished 63% possession, registered 17 shots, and completed 563 passes with a fine accuracy of 91% in their match against Los Blancos.

Liverpool are atop the Champions League table with 15 points from five games. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are 24th with just six points so far.
