Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo laughed off suggestions that he needed to have a signature celebration. He jokingly said that he would leave it to teammate Alejandro Garnacho.
During an interaction with fans on the United View YouTube channel, Mainoo was told that he needed to come up with a signature celebration. He was quick to laugh it off and said:
"I'll leave the celebrations to Garnacho, he likes a little celebration."
Mainoo spoke about Garnacho's celebrations earlier this season as well. He was quoted by GOAL as saying:
"I always ask Garna before the game what's the celebration gonna be if he scores. And he said he wasn't gonna tell me. So he was like: 'I'm not telling you, I'm not telling you.' So I'm like: 'Okay.' I saw him jump up on the advertising board when he scored and me and Rasmus just jumped up there with him.
"He wanted it for himself! But we jumped in there and it was a nice picture. All of us young guys, with Amad as well, we have a lot of fun together and we've definitely grown close this season."
Since making his senior debut for United, Mainoo has made 35 appearances, scoring five and assisting one goal. He also scored in the FA Cup final last season to help his side beat Manchester City.
Kobbie Mainoo on Erik ten hag staying at Manchester United
Kobbie Mainoo spoke to the media earlier this summer after Manchester United announced their decision to continue with Erik ten Hag. He stated that he was happy to see the Dutchman stay at the club and said (via ESPN):
"Obviously happy to be building with him, he's already got two trophies so hopefully there is more to come. It is nice to have that peace of mind that we know which manager we are going back to next season. I'm so grateful to him that he put so much trust in me and believed in me to play in the team and I can't thank him enough."
Manchester United had reportedly put contract talks with Kobbie Mainoo on hold as they wanted him to focus on the Euro 2024. They could enter into negotiations with him once the season starts.
