Legendary athlete Usain Bolt has taken to social media to remind everyone about his Manchester United prediction after they beat Arsenal. The two sides clashed in their FA Cup third-round match at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (January 12), with the Red Devils leaving London victorious.

Arsenal are now out of the FA Cup, with Manchester United still on course to potentially win the trophy this season, despite their poor run of form. Usain Bolt had predicted that the Red Devils could win the Premier League, and he reiterated his claim once more, posting on X:

"I’ll say it again.. once Manchester United continue to play with this fighting spirit we will win the league."

The Red Devils currently sit in 13th on the Premier League table, with 23 points from 20 games. They are 23 points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have racked up 46 points, and have a game in hand. They also sit 17 points behind second-place Arsenal, despite beating them in the FA Cup.

United have found it difficult to maintain winning form in the league. They have picked up nine losses in those 20 games, with just six wins and five draws.

Manchester United clinch FA Cup third-round victory over Arsenal with penalty shootout

The Old Trafford faithful will be delighted about their performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup. After a goalless first half, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, providing a clinical end to a brilliant counter-attack.

Diogo Dalot got sent off in the 61st minute after picking up a second yellow, making the game difficult for the Red Devils. It opened up for Arsenal, who found the equalizer just two minutes after Dalot was off the pitch (63'). Gabriel Magalhaes was at the right place in the right moment to hit a deflected volley that broke the United defense.

The Gunners continued to hound Manchester United with their numerical advantage and in the 69th minute, a controversial penalty was given to the hosts. Harry Maguire was deemed to have tackled Kai Havertz in the box, and referee Andy Madley pointed to the spot. However, from 12 yards, Martin Odegaard failed to beat United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

The full 90 minutes ended 1-1 and the game went into extra time, where neither side could find the net. In the resulting penalty shootout, Kai Havertz's effort from 12 yards was saved by Bayindir, while the Red Devils scored all their penalty kicks to win the game.
