An Arsenal fan was reduced to tears after the Gunners' right-back Ben White was spotted signing the supporter's shirt. Currently, the north London outfit are in the USA for their pre-season preparations.
Up next for the team is a friendly match against their Premier League rivals Liverpool on Wednesday (July 31). White, who started his team's 2-1 win against Manchester United on Saturday (July 27), will be expected to feature in this outing as well.
As the Gunners prepare for their next test, players have had an opportunity to interact with fans. In this video which emerged on X, the defender is seen signing a fan's shirt. The supporter can then be heard saying:
"I love you man, thank you so much. Have a good one."
White has become an integral part of the Arsenal squad ever since signing for the club in the summer of 2021 from Brighton for a reported fee of £50 million. Although the 26-year-old was initially seen as a central defender, he has now transitioned into a full-time right-back.
Last season, White was extremely good, striking a good relationship and combining with attacker Bukayo Saka on the right-hand side. He made 51 appearances across competitions for Arsenal in the 2023/24 campaign, bagging four goals and five assists.
With Jurrien Timber out for most of the season due to injury, Takehiro Tomiyasu was White's biggest threat in terms of competition for the position. It will be interesting to see whether the Dutchman can get some minutes in the right-back slot this year.
Arsenal star Ben White to consider returning to England setup - Reports
Arsenal defender Ben White is reportedly considering a return to international football with England following Gareth Southgate's departure as manager (via GIVEMESPORT). Despite the defender's brilliant performances, he wasn't included in The Three Lions' Euro 2024 team.
However, it is believed that White did not wish to represent his country after a bust-up with the backroom staff caused him to leave the World Cup camp in 2022. At the time, it was stated that the Gunners man departed from the competition due to personal reasons.
With White seemingly reconsidering appearing for the national team, it may be deduced that the player had issues with his manager. To date, he's only managed four appearances across competitions for England and is yet to score.
