Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo in 2022 and claimed that the Portuguese superstar was unstoppable as a striker. He believes that the Al Nassr star is a goalscoring machine and it is a joy to watch him play.

Speaking to the media via talkSPORT, Guardiola stated that Ronaldo was the best player in the world alongside Lionel Messi in the last 15 years. He added that the Portuguese star has done well to rise above the pressure in his career.

Guardiola said:

"He’s been one of the greatest in the last 15 years, alongside [Lionel] Messi. What these two guys have done, we're not going to see again. When you achieve these things, under scrutiny every second of your life and today, even more now with social media. As a finisher he’s exceptional, I'm not going to disguise it was a joy to watch him these years."

Cristiano Ronaldo first met Pep Guardiola in the UEFA Champions League final in 2009, when Barcelona won against Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola believes Lionel Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo

Pep Guardiola about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi earlier this season and claimed that the Barcelona legend was the greatest of all time. He believes that the Argentine is also better than Pele and Diego Maradona.

The Spanish football manager said via Reddit:

"With all due respect to Pele and Diego Maradona, but Lionel Messi is the GOAT in my opinion. I have never seen someone like him as a coach, you can't imagine him maintaining this longevity for 15-20 years. When you see him up close, you think of Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan."

The Manchester City manager also spoke about the two GOATs in the media and said:

"Messi, nobody could beat him. Just Cristiano. Cristiano was a monster, and the father of the monster is Messi. And both have done something incredible in the last 15 or 20 years. And maybe in that moment, Xavi and Iniesta deserved the Ballon d’Or as well."

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated world football for nearly two decades. They have admitted that their careers are coming to an end and their retirement is not far away.
