New Real Madrid signing Endrick has named Luke Modric, compatriot Vinicius Junior and fellow new signing Kylian Mbappe as ones he would look up to for advice. The 18-year-old Palmeiras sensation was recently unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu shortly after he had turned 18.
The move was made by Los Blancos in December 2022, but the Palmeiras prodigy wasn't allowed to arrive on Spanish shores before he turned 18. Now that he has done so, the reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners have formally announced the arrival of the Brazilian sensation.
Endrick - who was in action with Brazil at the 2024 Copa America - said that he would be all ears for advice from his senior teammates as he looks forward to creating his own niche at the club. He said (as per Madrid Xtra):
“I will listen to all advice from my team-mates. Modric, Vini, Mbappe. I’m here to learn.”
Among the three players Endrick mentioned, Modric has been at the Bernabeu since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2012. The 38-year-old midfielder recently penned a one-year extension that would keep him at the Bernabeu till next summer.
Meanwhile, Vinicius arrived at the club in the summer of 2018 and is now a first-team regular, while Mbappe joined this summer on a free transfer after a seven-season stint at PSG.
"It was a dream" - New Real Madrid signing Endrick
New Real Madrid signing Endrick realised a childhood dream as he completed his long-awaited move to the Spanish giants. A few days after Kylian Mbappe was unveiled, Madrid rolled out the red carpet for one of the most exciting young players in the game.
While doing Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic 'Uno dos tres Hala Madrid', Endrick said that he didn't expect 40,000 people to come to the stadium for his unveiling (as per ESPN):
"This is crazy. I am so happy, since I was a kid I have always been a Madrid fan, and now I am going to play for Madrid. I am here, I am going to play, I am so happy, my family are as well. I don't have words to describe what I am feeling. I always wanted to be here. I wanted to play for Madrid. It was a dream. Today it is a reality.
"I am grateful to everyone. Now we are going to sing a chant together, I am sure you will all sing with me: Three, two, one... 'Hala Madrid.' I won't lie, I did not expect all this, so many people."
Endrick is expected to make his competitive Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup final with reigning UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta in Warsaw on August 14.
