Mohamed Salah has aimed a dig at Jamie Carragher after the Liverpool legend again hit out at the Egyptian for the way he has spoken about his future.
Over the last few months, Carragher has been quite vocal about his disappointment with the 32-year-old winger's public stance. He labelled the ex-Chelsea star 'selfish' for discussing his current contractual situation in November last year.
Following Liverpool's recent 2-2 home league draw against Manchester United, Salah posted an image of himself alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold on social media. All three superstars are out of contract this summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher was asked to opine on the Egyptian's recent social media post. The ex-Reds defender replied (h/t SPORTbible):
"What I would say, is that Virgil van Dijk has come out of this whole situation this season, as a captain of the club, in a higher esteem, for me. The way he's conducted himself, his performances on the pitch, the way he's led the team, the way he was yesterday as well. He hasn't got involved in too much around this."
Carragher, who played for Liverpool 737 times from 1996 to 2013, added:
"It's obviously a really important time for all three players. We know that. But rather than speak about Trent Alexander-Arnold or Mo Salah, I'd probably like to pay tribute to Virgil van Dijk... he's asked questions, he's knocked it away. Fingers crossed he signs. The other two could maybe look at Virgil van Dijk and take a leaf out of his book."
Soon afterwards, the Egyptian fired back at Carragher. He wrote on X:
"I'm starting to think you're obsessed with me 😉"
Carragher decided to respond to the left-footed winger, posting on X:
"I've always been obsessed with you @MoSalah hopefully that obsession will continue next season 🤞🏻😜"
