Patrice Evra reckons Erik ten Hag will keep his job at Manchester United because of his track record of winning must-win games. The Dutch coach is under pressure, and INEOS are expected to make a decision over his future in the coming weeks.

The Red Devils have started the season poorly, with three defeats and two wins from six league games. Ten Hag's side sit 13th in the Premier League and were beaten 3-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur last time out (September 29).

Sky Sports asked Evra about the situation at Manchester United and whether he feels Ten Hag is about to be sacked. The Frenchman highlighted how he's managed to find a way in the past with his future seemingly on the line:

"We're going to keep saying 'if he loses those two games, he's going to get sacked'. But from experience, every time when he had that game, when we're going to say 'he's going to get sacked', he always wins them. So I'm not worried."

The Telegraph reports that Ten Hag is under scrutiny, and co-owners INEOS could decide to part ways during the upcoming international break. Red Devil chiefs Omar Berrada, Dave Brailsford, Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox were in the stands to watch 10-man United lose to Spurs.

Ten Hag signed a new one-year contract extension in the summer despite the club interviewing several candidates about potentially replacing him. He's been at Old Trafford since July 2022, overseeing 71 wins and 35 defeats in 123 games.

Manchester United reportedly set their sights on Simone Inzaghi as Ten Hag's replacement

If Manchester United decides to cut ties with Ten Hag, they will reportedly have Simone Inzaghi on their radar. The Italian coach has been earning plaudits in Serie A with Inter Milan.

The Daily Star reports that Inzaghi has joined former England manager Gareth Southgate on INEOS' shortlist. He has just under three years left on his contract at the San Siro, where he's guided the Nerazzurri to six major trophies.

Inzaghi has implemented an exciting, attacking brand of football at Inter, and his stock is growing. Since taking over in July 2021, he's overseen 107 wins in 165 games and took his side to the UEFA Champions League final in 2023.

Manchester United didn't interview Inzaghi for the job this past summer, perhaps feeling he was unattainable. Ten Hag confirmed that former Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel was among those who met with INEOS about potentially replacing him.
