Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu shared an image on social media of him and his son, Tiago, with Cristiano Ronaldo. Mutu, who has retired since 2016, shared his excitement about meeting the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who signed an Al-Nassr shirt for Mutu's son.

"Visiting Saudi Arabia, today we went to Al-Nassr. When my son Tiago turned 7, I promised him, if he’s a good boy that I’ll take him to meet the world superstar legend Cristiano Ronaldo, today the dream came true. Thank you my friend for your kindness. Also tonight we’re going to see the match together, the derby, against Al-Hilal," Mutu wrote on his Instagram account.

Adrian Mutu and his son were in attendance, as Ronaldo and Al-Nassr played hosts to Al-Hilal, with the match ending in a draw on May 17. Al-Hilal has clinched the Saudi Pro League title, while Al-Nassr will finish second.

Mutu and Ronaldo faced each other in the 2003-2004 season, when the former was playing for Chelsea and the latter for Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo has no plans to retire soon

Cristiano Ronaldo has accomplished almost everything in his illustrious career and is in the conversation for the greatest player of all time with Lionel Messi. At the age of 39, he knows that he is getting closer to retirement, but he made it clear that this moment hasn't arrived yet.

"I feel proud to have this age and still compete at the highest level. It's great and it gives me motivation to carry on. If you look at my career for the last 20 years, my level is high. If you are top for 20 years, it's unbelievable. I do that and I continue to do that. For me, it's a big achievement," Ronaldo said on the latest episode of the Whoop Podcast, via CBS Sports.

The Portuguese megastar has been impressive this season and has 42 goals and 13 assists in 42 games with Al-Nassr across all competitions. Still, his performance was not enough to lead Al-Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title.

Cristiano Ronaldo is under contract with his team through the summer of 2025 and it remains unclear what he will do once his deal expires.
