Former Liverpool star Emile Heskey believes Cristiano Ronaldo must not return to Europe amid uncertainty over his future at Al-Nassr. The Portugal international is in the final six months of his deal with the Saudi Pro League outfit, and certain rumors suggest that Ronaldo is looking for a new challenge.

Some reports have claimed that French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) would be interested in bringing the 39-year-old to the Parc des Princes. However, Heskey doesn't see it happening, citing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as an example.

With the Egyptian's contract also coming to an end at Anfield in the summer, it seems as though the winger is struggling to get a new deal. This is despite his brilliant performances this campaign, where the former Roma man has netted 21 times and bagged 17 assists in 27 matches across competitions.

Speaking to Instant Casino about Ronaldo's potential return to Europe, Heskey said (via GOAL):

"I can't see him coming back to Europe unless someone thinks it’s more of a commercial deal than anything else. Coming back to Europe, players who are 30 and doing really well are struggling to get new contracts, Mo Salah being the biggest name, so I don't think he'll come back to Europe. But I still think he could do a job, absolutely."

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 after having his contracted mutual terminated at Manchester United just before. Since then, he's played 83 matches across competitions for his current employers, bagging 74 goals and 18 assists.

Liverpool were said to be monitoring the situation of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams last summer. This is as per The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, who claims that Arsenal's interest in the Spain international stands to date.

The links to Williams seemingly stemmed from the fact that Mohammed Salah's future at Anfield was uncertain. Speaking about the future of the La Liga star, Ornstein wrote (via Rousing the Kop):

“Nico Williams has a host of suitors; Arsenal and Chelsea are high among them, while Liverpool looked into the viability of a deal last summer."

Williams is an extremely talented player who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney in the past. While the Gunners' interest seems strong, Ornstein also clarified that the finances of this deal could prove a bit much to get it across the line.
