Inter Miami midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi has opened up on learning from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at the club. The 19-year-old came through the youth system at Fort Lauderdale, breaking into the first team in 2022.

To the delight of the club, Messi made the switch to join the Herons, leaving Europe in 2023, and Suarez joined up with them in 2024. Other Barcelona legends like Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets joined Inter Miami as well, providing young players like Cremaschi with knowledge about the beautiful game.

The teenager spoke about what the legendary players have taught him, admitting that he looked to absorb what they did (via GOAL):

"Obviously, being around these guys, you learn a lot. You learn how they take care of their body, how they work in training. I think every single player in the club at Inter Miami tries to absorb everything they do, everything they show and I think it's important to have people like that, to have people that played at that level."
"Obviously, they're amazing people. They try to help out with everything they can do. I'm super happy to have them there and obviously, I try to translate what they show and what they do into my game."

Cremaschi is with the US men's national team in their annual January camp. However, he will return to the pitch with Inter Miami and Lionel Messi when the Herons play a friendly against Club America at the Allegiant Stadium on January 18.

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi prepare for pre-season tour across four countries

Before they begin their MLS and Concacaf Champions Cup campaigns this season, Inter Miami will play friendlies across four countries. This pre-season tour will see the Supporters' Shield champions play in Peru, Panama, Honduras, and the United States.

The Herons will face Club America on January 18 in the US before facing Universitario on January 29 in Peru. They will then play against Sporting San Miguelito on February 2 in Panama, before clashing with Olimpia in Honduras on February 8.

Miami will return to the US after this to face Orlando City on February 14 in their final friendly.

The Herons will begin their MLS campaign on February 22 at the Chase Stadium, where they face New York City. They will hope Lionel Messi continues his remarkable run of form. Last season, the Argentine forward found the net 23 times and provided 13 assists, all in merely 25 games.
