Pep Guardiola has revealed that he will not be taking up punditry after his coaching career is done. The Manchester City manager stated that he cannot criticize his colleagues, which is the main reason he would never consider becoming a pundit.

Speaking to the media, Guardiola claimed that he does not like to hurt people with comments and becoming a pundit would force him to say things that would be negative about his colleagues. He said:

"I don't think I'm going to do that. I am cautious. I couldn't make a comment that could hurt my colleagues. I know how difficult this job is, how difficult it is, and I don’t want to pretend sitting there. It's so unpredictable and many things happen. I (could) hurt someone sometimes with the delivery. We can agree and disagree. My job is here, their job is there. I wanted to defend my club, it's not personal. I know how difficult it is. I was a football player before, now a manager and our business is so complicated and so unpredictable, I don’t want to hurt my colleagues in a position to do it. Maybe it will happen in the future - but honestly I don't think so."

Pep Guardiola has stated that he will not be leaving Manchester City despite their rocky end to 2024.

Pep Guardiola was surprised at 'sacking in the morning' chants by Liverpool fans

Liverpool fans were heard chanting 'sacked in the morning' to Pep Guardiola when Manchester City lost 2-0 to the Reds at Anfield. The Spaniard admitted that he was surprised by the chants and added that he is proud to have won six titles in the last seven seasons. He said:

“I’m so proud of my six Premier Leagues against that team (Liverpool) and the previous teams. I didn’t expect Anfield to start to chant at 0-2 that I would be sacked. Maybe I deserve to be sacked, honestly, with our results, or maybe I’m still in the job because I won six Premier Leagues and a lot of titles! But I didn’t expect them to sing at 0-2. Maybe they should sing at 0-1 when the game was tighter or maybe last season or the previous season."

Pep Guardiola has been linked with the Brazil national team job. He was also said to be in the mix for the England job before they appointed Thomas Tuchel.
