Pundits Ian Wright and Gary Neville have given their predictions for the upcoming match between Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, November 10. Wright expects his former side to secure the victory at Stamford Bridge, while Neville predicted a stalemate between both sides.
Chelsea and Arsenal will be hoping to secure a victory when they square off, as both sides dropped points in their last Premier League game. Mikel Arteta’s men will be craving a victory the more as they are winless in their last three league matches.
The Blues are currently in the fourth position with 18 points after 10 games, while the Gunners are right behind them also with 18 points. Enzo Maresca’s men are higher in the standings because they have a better goal difference.
Arsenal fans will be quite happy as their talisman, Marin Odegaard, will be available for the clash. Ian Wright and Gary Neville recently gave their respective prognostications about the match. Wright said via Metro:
''We need to win, we need to win. We’re not scoring at the minute. We’re normally pretty good at Chelsea. We normally do well but this Chelsea team has got a different swagger. I’m going to go 2-1 to Arsenal."
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes the spoils will be shared between both sides. He said:
''I’m doing that game, I can’t have a draw again! Probably will be a draw though, won’t it? I think 1-1, we’ll go with 1-1."
The last time both sides locked horns at Stamford Bridge, the match ended in a 2-2 draw in October last year.
Mikel Arteta says Arsenal could defeat Chelsea after 1-0 to Inter Milan
After Arsenal lost 1-0 to Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League at San Siro on November 6, Arteta was in a bullish mood during the post-match conference. He asserted that his side could defeat Chelsea if they replicated the performance they displayed against the Nerazzurri at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal’s defeat against Inter made it the first time they suffered consecutive defeats this season across competitions. However, Arteta feels the result could be different against the Blues as he said (via Metro):
"If we play the way we played against Inter then we have a big chance to win against Chelsea. That’s the way we have to go. I told them that I’m proud of them, I haven’t seen them play in Europe in the manner that we played today. We are very disappointed because we didn’t get what we wanted out of the game, that’s for sure."
While Arsenal fans could be thrilled about Martin Odegaard’s return, some of their first-team players will be unavailable for the clash. Players like Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu will be out while Declan Rice remains a doubt.
