Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's father Carlos Mac Allister has spoken about his son's future amidst links with Real Madrid. He said that there are currently no talks with Los Blancos and that his son will stay at Anfield.
The Reds signed Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion for a reported fee of £35 million last summer after his excellent display at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The midfielder helped Argentina win the trophy and also helped Brighton qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
Mac Allister played in multiple positions in midfield for the Merseysiders last season. He scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 46 games across competitions, becoming a key member of the team under Jurgen Klopp.
He was linked with a potential move to Real Madrid earlier this summer. His father Carlos Mac Allister has now spoken on those links, saying (via ECHO):
“Alexis is performing very well at Liverpool, and this is the important thing to say at the moment. There are no negotiations from Real Madrid with Alexis, and the player will continue with Liverpool next season.
"If future offers arrive to sign Alexis, we will discuss them with Liverpool's management first."
Mac Allister's contract expires in 2028 and as per Transfermarkt, his market value is €75 million.
Real Madrid interested in signing Liverpool star as potential successor for veteran: Reports
As per journalist Christian Falk, Real Madrid are interested in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer. The right-back's contract with Liverpool expires in 2025 and there have been no reports of an extension yet.
Alexander-Arnold came through the Reds' academy and has made 310 senior appearances for them, scoring 19 goals and providing 81 assists. He's won almost every trophy available with the Merseysiders. He is known for his attacking prowess and passing range, which sees him play in midfield for England.
Los Blancos, meanwhile, could potentially look for a Dani Carvajal successor. The Spaniard is 32 now and while he performed brilliantly last season, Real Madrid don't have a recognised backup. Lucas Vazquez fills in for Carvajal but he is mainly a winger turned into a right-back.
As per Falk, Alexander-Arnold will be open to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu as well if a deal can be agreed upon. He is currently on holiday after helping England reach the Euro 2024 final and will return for pre-season later this month.
