Pundit Jason Cundy has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be sacked next summer if the Gunners fail to win the Premier League title this season. The Gunners are expected to, once again, go toe-to-toe with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City for the league title.

Arsenal came close to laying their hands on the trophy last season as they finished second, just two points behind champions Manchester City. This was their second consecutive second-placed finish in the Premier League, having missed out on the 2022-23 title to Guardiola's City by five points.

Meanwhile, football pundit Jason believes that Arsenal's squad is ready to deliver the league title and Arteta could face the consequences if they fail to do so.

In conversation with Tom Garratt on the NetBet podcast, Cundy said:

"If he [Arteta] doesn't, I think he'll probably be gone in the summer. I think that Arsenal are ready to win this title. And it breaks my heart saying it."
"If he doesn't win it, I think there would be problems ahead because it feels this squad is ready for that and the owners have spent a lot of money. He's spent a lot of money. This squad is primed right now."

Mikel Arteta claims that Arsenal players are determined to win the Premier League title this season

Ahead of their Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Mikel Arteta claimed that his players have set a target to better their second-place finish from the 2023-24 PL campaign.

The North London giants went into the final day of the season with hopes of landing their first PL crown since 2004. However, they weren't able to stop Manchester City from beating them to the title for the second consecutive season.

Arteta has claimed that his players are determined to go all the way and lift the title this season. He said (via ESPN):

"I think we had a gathering together with all the club players and the players said to me, 'We're going to do it, we want more'."
"We're not going to stop here and we want much more. We know how we want to evolve and how the players can evolve. Those margins are huge and we have to fill them."

Arsenal kicked off their 2024-25 Premier League campaign on a bright note as they secured an impressive 2-0 home victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. It will be interesting to see if Arteta's men can mount a serious title challenge this season.
