Manchester City's Bernardo Silva has slammed the team following their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday, December 15, in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's team arrived at the game on a run of one win in ten games but took the lead in the 36th minute through Josko Gvardiol.
The Red Devils rallied after the break but the Cityzens held on. Just when it appeared that they would secure all three points, disaster struck.
First Matheus Nunes brought down Amad Diallo in the box to gift Manchester United a penalty. Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot to level the scores in the 88th minute.
Two minutes later, Diallo rounded Ederson after latching on to a Lisandro Martinez ball and completed a stunning comeback.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the defeat, Silva insisted that Manchester City played like Under-15s in the final minutes.
“In the last minutes we played like Under-15s… and you pay the price. We deserved what happened. Stupid decisions, we made. It's the decisions that you make. We have to look at ourselves,”said Bernardo Silva.
Pep Guardiola's side have now lost eight of their last 11 games across competitions. Manchester City have dropped to fifth in the Premier League table after 16 games, nine points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
Manchester United, meanwhile, remain 13th, six points behind fourth-placed Nottingham Forest.
