Journalist claims Real Madrid regret signing Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid are reportedly regretting signing France captain Kylian Mbappe in the summer. The 25-year-old attacker joined Los Blancos this summer on a free transfer after his deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) expired.

While Real Madrid didn't pay PSG any fee for Kylian Mbappe, they offered him a massive €150 million signing-on fee along with a €15 million a year contract. However, as reported by journalist Romain Molina, Los Blancos now regret their decision.

Molina has claimed that only Los Blancos president Florentino Perez was desperate to bring Mbappe to the club by any means. However, the club's hierarchy are not entirely happy with the Frenchman's performances and his relationship with his teammates. Molina said in an interview with Colinterview, as quoted by Get Football News France:

"They regret bringing him in. I guarantee that. I have spoken about it on off [the record]. It hasn’t been at all what they were expecting. It was a whim of [Florentino] Perez. It was only Perez that wanted him."

The journalist added:

“[Perez] has always liked the big players. He also has a filial relationship with him (Mbappé) […] the club are gutted, firstly with his level (performances), which is not at all at the expected levels, in the dressing room it isn’t great, that isn’t necessarily Mbappé’s fault though."

Molina even went on to claim that Mbappe has already seen a decline in his physical attributes at the age of just 25. He added:

"I think Real have made a big mistake. He didn’t have a pre-season, he played instantly, unlike [Jude] Bellingham. When you see how [Mbappé] is physically at 25, you can’t explain it to me. The physical drop-off that he has had at 25, I have never seen that.”

Kylian Mbappe had a rather difficult start to life at Real Madrid although he has seen an improvement in his form of late. He has so far contributed with seven goals and one assist in 11 appearances across competitions.

The superstar has also been subject to off-field controversies of late having reportedly been accused of rape during his trip to Stockholm, Sweden. His lawyer Marie-Alex Kanu-Bernard has already issued a statement in response to the accusations insisting his client is innocent.

Real Madrid star on playing with Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo

Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has opened up on his experience of playing alongside the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo. The England international has claimed that he often gets lost for words by the things the trio do on the pitch. He told UK-based publication VERSUS:

"It took some time getting used to but now you just see them as normal people. In the first few weeks I had to remind myself that I'm here playing with them for a reason, because I've earned it."

The English midfielder added:

"But occasionally they do things that leave me a little bit lost for words, and I'd like to think they feel the same when they see some of the things I can do on the pitch too."

Bellingham is part of Real Madrid's star-studded squad alongside their stellar attacking trio of Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. He has shared the pitch with Rodrygo on 47 occasions and with Vinicius Junior on 37 occasions, recording two and eight joint goal participations.

The 21-year-old has been on the pitch with Mbappe on seven occasions so far and has produced two joint goal participations. The Englishman is yet to score this season but has provided two assists in eight games this campaign.
