"It’s driving me crazy watching Arsenal play" - Gary Neville reveals he was frustrated by Arsenal's performance in draw against Everton

Manchester United icon Gary Neville has shared his displeasure about Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday (December 14). The Gunners dominated possession (77%) but failed to create sufficient opportunities in the final third.

Neville believes that the north Londoners ought to have stepped out of their shell and attacked a bit more. In all, Mikel Arteta's team registered 13 shots, of which five found the target.

They were resolute at the other end, conceding just two attempts, from which the Toffees failed to test David Raya even once. Despite their defensive prowess, the ex-Red Devils star is worried about their risk-taking abilities and said (via The Boot Room):

“To be fair, I watched the whole game for Arsenal on Saturday vs Everton. You talk about recycling possession around one side to another. It’s driving me crazy watching Arsenal play."

“Honestly I’m serious, watching Arsenal on Saturday I was thinking, ‘Kitchen sink please.’ You need a goal. Come on, show some level of risk that goes outside of the norm.”

The title charge for the current campaign seems to slowly be slipping away for Arteta and Co. Following this outing, the Gunners are placed third in the Premier League standings, six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played a game less.

Up next for Arsenal is a trip to Selhurst Park, where they face Crystal Palace in the league on Saturday (December 21). They registered a 3-2 win against the Eagles in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday (December 18).

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney sends message to fans after surprise Carabao Cup appearance

Kieran Tierney, who has seemingly out of favor at the Emirates, managed to start his team's EFL Cup clash against Crystal Palace. It marked the Scotland international's first appearance for the Gunners this campaign across competitions this season.

However, he didn't last the entire fixture and was subbed off in the 69th minute, seemingly due to an injury. Following the game's conclusion, Tierney took to Instagram and wrote:

'Feels amazing to be back out at the Emirates! Thank you so much for the reception… always grateful. Onto the semis."

The full-back's time in north London may be coming close to its end, with his contract running out in the summer of 2025. Moreover, he's behind a number of defenders in his position, including Riccardo Calafiori, Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber.

Miles Lewis-Skelly, who is just 18, has also been preferred over the former Celtic man in recent matches.
