Ruben Amorim has hinted that he was not happy with Manchester United star Marcus Rashford's interview with Henry Winter. Amorim claimed that he would have spoken to the manager if he was in the Englishman's situation.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Tottenham clash, Amorim stated that he cannot think about Rashford's interview and the big headlines it created as he needs to focus on the game. He added that the Carabao Cup match takes priority over all players.

He said via Team Talk:

"I would speak with the manager. It's hard to explain what I am going to do. I'm a little bit emotional. I need to prepare for the game and then we will see. Let's focus on the team, not individual players."
"It's a hard situation to comment [on]. If I give a lot of importance it will have big headlines in the papers and if I say it's not a problem then my standards are getting low. My focus is to not take the attention away from the game and the team and what we did in the last game," Amorim added.

Manchester United will take on Tottenham on Thursday night in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals. They are 13th in the league table despite beating Manchester City 2-1 on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford hints at Manchester United exit

Marcus Rashford spoke to Henry Winter earlier this week and admitted that he was disheartened after being left out of the Manchester United squad. The Englishman has scored seven times and assisted thrice in 24 matches this season.

He highlighted that the snub was just a setback in his career and said:

“It’s disheartening to be left out of a Derby, but it’s happened, we won the game so let's move on. It’s disappointing but I’m also someone as I’ve got older I can deal with setbacks. What am I going to do about it? Sit there and cry about it. Or do my best the next time I’m available.”

However, Rashford added that it was time for a change in his career and said:

“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it's going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person."

Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked with the Manchester United star, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs.
