Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the crisis at Manchester United is beyond a managerial change as other factors are affecting the club. The Portuguese icon, who can be described as an Old Trafford legend, scored 145 goals and registered 64 assists in 346 games for the Red Devils.
Speaking at the 15th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, the 39-year-old was asked about Manchester United. He said (via Global Soccer Awards on YouTube):
"I said this a year and a half ago and I'll continue to say it, the problem is not the coaches. I will try to give an example, it's like an aquarium, if there are fish living inside and one of them fall sick and you take him out and fix the problem and put him back in the aquarium, then he'll be sick again. This is the problem of Manchester United, the problem is not only the coach, it's much more than that."
Ronaldo’s comment comes in the aftermath of the Red Devils struggle this season despite some strategic changes at Old Trafford.
Despite changing their head coach, the Red Devils have struggled to be consistent in recent months. They are ranked 14th in the Premier League, having registered only 22 points from 18 games.
"Manchester United manager cannot be comfortable," says head coach Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim has claimed that a Red Devils manager can't be comfortable. This comes in the aftermath of the Red Devils' 0-2 league defeat to Wolves on (December 26).
Speaking in an interview, Amorim was asked if he needed time to turn things around at United. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):
"Manchester United manager cannot be comfortable. I know the business that I'm in, I know if we don't win, I know that every manager is in danger and I like that!.”
In 10 games under Amorim's stewardship, United have won four, drawn one, and lost five games. Hence, the results might have to improve in the coming weeks for the Portuguese tactician to retain his job at Old Trafford.
