Kylian Mbappe has been finally unveiled at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu as a Real Madrid player after several years of dilemma. After an underwhelming display at Euro 2024, the France captain finally got a chance to have his moment when Florentino Perez unveiled him amid a crowd of nearly 80,000 at the Bernabeu.
Several juggernauts from various fields congratulated the World Cup winner after his iconic presentation. One of the most prominent ones among them was the famous F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
The 29-year-old joked about Kylian Mbappe delaying his entry into the Bernabeu outfit for such a long time.
“It took you long enough," joked Carlos Sainz (via Madrid Zone).
Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid after breaking a cohort of individual records at Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The Frenchman joined PSG in 2018 and has scored a record 256 goals in 308 games for the French club despite being there for only six seasons.
Overall, the Frenchman has scored 331 goals and created 158 more in 446 club and international appearances so far.
Kylian Mbappe recreated the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo celebration in his Real Madrid presentation
"Uno, dos, tres, Hala Madrid!" was the iconic chant started by Cristiano Ronaldo when he was presented at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2009. The Portuguese legend went on to achieve virtually everything in the iconic white jersey and was a part of one of the biggest rivalries in the history of football with Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Fifteen years later, Kylian Mbappe followed in the footsteps of his childhood idol and started the same chant. The entire Bernabeu joined in as the whole stadium shouted 'Hala Madrid!' in unison.
The 25-year-old went on to kiss the club's badge and acknowledged the packed stadium by kicking several balls towards the stands.
“It's an incredible day for me. Since being a kid I dreamed about playing for Madrid and today I'm here. It means a lot to me. Now I have another dream, which is to live up to the history of this club, the best club in the world. I’ll give my life to this club and to this shield," Mbappe said during the event.
The French forward also revealed that Vinicius Junior had called him to convince him to join Real Madrid.
“I can’t wait to play with him, Bellingham and all the other top players at the club,” he added.
In the Los Blancos' lineup, Mbappe will be the cherry on top of the star-studded forward lineup consisting of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and assisted by Jude Bellingham from the attacking midfield.
The French forward has reportedly joined the Bernabeu outfit for a $15 million a year salary and a whopping $120 million joining bonus.
