"Jack of all trades and a master of none" - Roy Keane believes 'talented' Arsenal star is 'easy to pick on' after Euro 2024 showing

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has spoken about Arsenal forward Kai Havertz after he scored a penalty for Germany in EURO 2024 on June 29. The 25-year-old hit the mark as the hosts saw off Denmark with a 2-0 win, cementing their seat in the quarter-finals.

That made it two goals for Havertz in the tournament, leading to some praise from Roy Keane. The former footballer explained on ITV Sports why there have been doubts about Havertz's potential (via HITC):

“Because of his style of play, maybe. He is just easy to pick on. But that was brilliant movement [off-the-shoulder run and volley against Denmark]. He didn’t get a great connection on it, but great movement and a great ball."

Keane continued praising the forward:

“He has scored a lot of big goals, for his country, for Chelsea and Arsenal. He is a top player. Maybe a jack of all trades and a master of none. But he is certainly a talented boy.”

Last season, Havertz scored 13 Premier League goals for the Gunners, providing seven assists in 37 games. He was a vital force in their push for the league title, even though they eventually ended in second place, two points behind Manchester City.

Arsenal winger responds to calls for position change at EURO 2024

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has responded to calls for him to potentially play at left-back for England at EURO 2024. The winger notably plays on the right flank, cutting inwards to take shots with his left foot or taking the byline route to cross the ball with his right.

Luke Shaw happens to be the only natural left-back in the England squad, but the Manchester United man has struggled with injuries and fitness. This has seen head coach Gareth Southgate opt for Kieran Trippier in the position, but the full-back has struggled to impress.

Calls for Bukayo Saka to play at left-back then came to the fore, with Arsenal legend Ian Wright openly pushing for Southgate to play the winger there. Saka was not too interested in doing so, though, as he responded (via TBR Football):

“No, obviously I love Ian Wright and he says so many great things about me but I don’t think putting me out of position is the solution. But at the end of the day, I think we can we can talk about this but it’s in Gareth’s hands so we will just have to trust whoever Gareth selects on the day.”

In their 2-1 win over Slovakia in the Round of 16 on June 30, Gareth Southgate notably moved Bukayo Saka into left-back. It came after Kieran Trippier came off in the 66th minute but he returned to the right wing in extra time.
