Manchester City are interested in re-signing Chelsea star Cole Palmer if Kevin De Bruyne leaves next summer, according to reports. Fans are in disbelief that the Cityzens are trying to bring back the England international, who's become a marquee player for the Blues.
Palmer arrived at Stamford Bridge in a reported €50 million move (including add-ons) last year after struggling to find game time under City boss Pep Guardiola. The 22-year-old quickly became arguably the club's best player, displaying exceptional form for Mauricio Pochettino's side last season.
He helped them secure a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, contributing 27 goals and 15 assists across all competitions. Reports now suggest that City are willing to offer a staggering €150 million to re-sign their academy graduate.
Manchester City talisman Kevin De Bruyne's contract is set to expire next June and his future at the club remains uncertain. The Belgian midfielder has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia as well.
According to Fichajes.net, Guardiola has informed the management at the Etihad that he would like to bring Palmer back. However, Chelsea fans have shut down the possibility of returning their star player back to their rivals.
Here are the rest of their reactions:
"No we want £500m with halaand" one fan claimed.
"Then let them prepare one billion" wrote another.
"Mission impossible 😂😂😂 " one fan remarked.
"They are mad 😂 😂 " another commented.

"Yeah, it was a gamble" - Chelsea star Cole Palmer opens up about leaving Manchester City
Cole Palmer has opened up about leaving Manchester City in favor of a move to Stamford Bridge last season. The England international has revealed that he was warned against the transfer.
After earning his first-team promotion in 2021 at City, Palmer made just 19 Premier League appearances in the subsequent two years under Pep Guardiola. As a result, he joined the Blues last year to get more minutes on the pitch.
Speaking about his decision to join Chelsea, Cole Palmer told ITV (via The Standard):
“How do I look back on leaving Man City? Yeah, it was a gamble because I didn’t know what I was going into, I didn’t know the club I was going into. I had people telling me, don’t go here, don’t go there. But I just decided what I wanted to do myself and did it."
“To move clubs, it changed my life. In many different ways, leaving Manchester where I grew up, getting away from people I didn’t need to be around. And the football as well obviously,” he added.
Cole Palmer has had an excellent start to the 2024-25 campaign and seems to have carried over his form from last term. The England international has scored six goals and provided five assists in nine games across all competitions.
