Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham was recently seen with Chelsea stars Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke. He shared pictures of himself with his compatriots on social media during his ongoing Christmas break.
Unlike the Premier League, teams in LaLiga get a winter break and the England international is making the most of it. He shared multiple snaps from his break on Instagram, which included him traveling to various places. He also shared pictures from the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai and with tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz.
In his carousel post, Bellingham shared a picture with Chelsea duo Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke. He captioned the post:
"Madrid -> Sunlun -> Dubai. Much needed Christmas break, let’s get back to it!"
Bellingham and Sancho have shared the pitch 35 times during their time together at Borussia Dortmund and for England, combining for one goal. The Real Madrid star, meanwhile, has also shared the pitch four times with Madueke, who made his England debut earlier this year.
When Frank Lampard shared why Chelsea missed out on signing Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard revealed earlier this year that Chelsea had the opportunity to sign Jude Bellingham before he joined Borussia Dortmund. However, the midfielder and his parents wanted regular playing time for him, which led to a potential move breaking down.
The Real Madrid man had established himself as one of the most promising youngsters during his time at Birmingham City. Many top teams were interested in signing him, including Chelsea, as Lampard said (via Metro):
"I remember when I was Chelsea manager, we tried to get Jude Bellingham and we knew that everyone was in for him. It was ourselves, I think it was Manchester United, Manchester City, all the big boys. He came with his parents and my selling point was, 'Well, I’ve got Mason Mount, I’ve got Reece James, I’m playing young players.'
"But I think they probably weighed it up and went, 'We know he’s going to play [at Dortmund], it’s out of his comfort zone….’"
Lampard was asked if Bellingham's parents demanded more playing time for a potential move to Stamford Bridge. He answered:
"No, I think they were probably more polite than that. But yeah, from the questions they asked it was quite clear that they didn’t want him to sit there and sort of feeling his way into the team for years. What he did at Dortmund was special because he played regularly, his personality grew.
"But what he’s doing at Real Madrid, I don’t know what to compare it to in terms of an English player, at his age, to go and make that impact straight away."
The Englishman eventually joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and spent three years with them before his €105 million move to Real Madrid. He's been a revelation for the Spanish giants, recording 30 goals and 19 assists in 64 games.
