Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has come under severe criticism after a disappointing display in Senegal's win over Burkina Faso on Friday, November 15. The striker led the line for his country as they picked up a 1-0 win over their opponents away from home in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Senegal were dethroned in the last edition of the AFCON earlier this year and are undergoing a rebuild, with Nicolas Jackson playing up front. With their place in the next edition of the tournament secured, the 23-year-old striker started in attack for the Teranga Lions. He had a game to forget, resulting in a barrage of criticism from Senegalese media.

The Chelsea man failed to find the back of the net in the game and featured for 64 minutes before he was hauled off and replaced with Cherif Ndiaye. Senegal needed a late goal from Habib Diarra to defeat the Stallions of Burkina Faso on a day Jackson struggled. The Chelsea man had 20 touches, completed nine passes, attempted two shots, made a key pass, and won a ground duel.

Seneweb gave the former Villarreal man a 4/10 rating, following it up with a scathing assessment of his performance. They wrote (via TBR Football):

"Starting up front, Nicolas Jackson had a poor game. Although he showed some good things at the start of the match with his back-to-goal play, the Chelsea striker then lacked efficiency and spontaneity, wasting several offensive moves by the Lions.
“He was non-existent up front. Replaced by Cherif Ndiaye, who tried to bring his power to the attack without success.”

Nicolas Jackson has been in fine form for his club this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 12 Premier League appearances for the Blues. Meanwhile, the striker scored his first goal for the Teranga Lions in their 4-0 win over Malawi last month.

Chelsea star shines in England win over Greece

Noni Madueke had an impressive game for England as he contributed an assist in their 3-0 win over Greece in Athens on Friday, November 15. The Chelsea man represented his club very well, setting up Ollie Watkins (7') to score the Three Lions' first goal.

Madueke created three chances on what was his first start for his country, more than any other player did for the Three Lions. The 22-year-old was excellent throughout the game, winning four duels and three fouls, as well. For Chelsea, he's scored five goals in 13 games across competitions this sesaon.

Three Blues players were included in the original England squad for this month's UEFA Nations League games, and only one of them is with the squad due to withdrawals. The duo of Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer pulled out, leaving Madueke as the only Blues player in the squad.
