Rivaldo has urged Antony to leave Manchester United this summer. The Brazilian legend claims that winger is sitll a great player, but is stuck at the wrong club.
Speaking to BetFair, Rivaldo stated that Antony should leave England this summer. He believes a move to Spain, Germany or Italy would be ideal for the former Ajax man and said:
"I still say Manchester United winger Antony is a great player. He's already played in a World Cup for Brazil and he's still young with plenty of football to play. He's currently at a club that's been going through difficult times for a while now, so in my opinion leaving England could be good for him."
He added:
"Moving to a side in Spain, Germany or Italy could be fundamental for his progression now. With his skills and the football that he can play, I think that he would fit very well into any big team in Spain, for example. It could be good for him to go to a club where he can return to playing regularly and aim to get back into the Brazilian team. Who knows, maybe in 2026 he can play in another World Cup."
Antony has not been at his best this season and has scored just once in the Premier League. He also has only one assists in 29 appearances for the Red Devils.
Manchester United told to sell Antony by former player
Dwight Yorke is not happy with Antony and has urged Manchester United to sell the Brazilian. He believes that the winger is not good enough and if the Red Devils stick with him, things will not change at the club.
He said via GOAL:
"I'm not sure if Man Utd players understand that these days. I'm also not surprised that we're still talking about Antony and what he brings because he cost £85m. There are always going to be question marks when you sign a player for that much, especially when they're playing for a club like Man Utd. The club has to move these players on as quickly as possible or else they'll find themselves in the same position every year."
Antony was reportedly signed for €100 million after Erik ten hag insisted on getting him from Ajax. Both face uncertain futures at Manchester United this summer.
