Former Real Madrid midfielder Isco has urged Dani Ceballos to join Real Betis. Ceballos is a peripheral figure with the reigning champions and has struggled for chances this season.
The 28-year-old has registered 14 appearances across competitions this campaign, only six of which have been starts. The Spaniard has been linked with an exit from Real Madrid for a while, although it has been suggested that he remains part of Carlo Ancelotti's squad.
Meanwhile, Isco rose through the ranks at Valencia before joining Los Blancos in 2013. The Spaniard spent nine seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, before leaving for Sevilla in 2022.
He moved to Estadio Benito Villamarin in the summer of 2023 and enjoyed a decent debut campaign. The 32-year-old picked up an injury at the tail end of last season and only recently returned to full fitness. After the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, where he scored, Isco insisted that he feels loved at Real Betis.
"Let's see if he comes here soon, he's making himself loved, the b*****d. I feel very loved here, that always helps a footballer. I hope to get back into the rhythm, get into my best form, I think we have a very good team, a lot to improve, but I'm sure we can keep improving," said Isco (via Tribal Football).
Isco registered 53 goals and 57 assists from 353 games for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid could sign Lazio defender in 2025
Real Madrid could be tempted to sign a new defender in 2025 amid a host of injuries to the backline. The LaLiga champions have been without David Alaba due to an ACL injury since December 2023, although he is expected to return next month.
Eder Militao also ruptured his ACL in November and remains sidelined for the rest of the campaign. The situation has forced Los Blancos to consider multiple makeshift options at the back, including Aurelien Tchouameni and Raul Asencio.
Real Madrid could be tempted to address the issue next year and recent reports have suggested that Mario Gila has emerged as an option (via Football Espana). The 24-year-old rose through the ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu, before leaving the club in 2022 to move to Lazio.
He has since established himself with the Serie A side and has registered 19 appearances across competitions this season. Interestingly, Los Blancos retain 50% of the player's rights so they could sign him for cheap next year.
