Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has opened up on the areas where he wants Marcus Rashford to improve. The England international has gone out of favor at his boyhood club following the arrival of Amorim at the hot seat.
Rashford was excluded from the Red Devils' matchday squads by Ruben Amorim in the last three games. There has been speculations regarding the future of the 27-year-old at Old Trafford following his exclusions from the squad.
Amorim has now opened up on Rashford's situation and urged every player to become the best version of themselves. The Portuguese manager said, as quoted by UtdDistrict on X:
"Like any other player, the best they can be. If you have big talents; a big performance, big responsibility, big engagement, push forward everybody in this moment."
The managed added:
"Some guys have a big responsibility here because they are here for a long time. This is maybe one of the lowest moments in our club. So we have to face it and be strong in this moment."
Rashford has endured difficult times on the pitch over the last couple of seasons after experiencing his career-best season in 2022-23. The wide forward scored 30 goals and provided nine assists in 56 appearances during that campaign.
However, things have gone downhill for the Manchester United star since as he looks like a shadow of his former self. He scored just eight goals and provided five assists in 43 appearances last season.
The Englishman's tally has somewhat improved this season with seven goals and three assists in 24 games this season. The forward came through Manchester United's own youth ranks and has made 426 appearances till date, producing 138 goals and 63 assists.
