Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo skips Copa America 2024's opening game; shares images of day out at theme park

Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo has reportedly skipped Argentina's Copa America 2024 opener against Canada on Thursday, June 20. Instead, she was seen having a gala time at Universal Orlando with her two sons.

In an Instagram post, Antonela posted photos of the outing with her two sons Thiago and Mateo.

Antonela was seen sporting a red dress as she posed in front of the famous Hogwarts castle. The 36-year-old also posted other photos like a signboard showing Hogwarts and Hogsmeade and a picture of some shops in Diagon Alley. Finally, there was a photo of the famous Hogwarts Express entering the King's Cross station.

"Hogwarts always," captioned the 36-year-old.

Meanwhile, Argentina will look to start their Copa America 2024 campaign with a win over Canada. La Albiceleste are in a comparatively tricky group which also includes Chile and Peru.

Argentina have been in fine form in recent years. Lionel Messi and company won the Copa America in 2021 before winning the 2022 World Cup.

Lionel Messi will feature in his record seventh Copa America edition. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner can end up breaking several records in this tournament.

Firstly, he is sure to break Sergio Livingstone's longstanding record of most appearances in Copa America the moment he steps onto the field against Canada. Both players are currently tied at 34 appearances each.

Secondly, the Intr Miami superstar could break the record for the most goals scored in the competition's history. Currently, he is on 13 goals, while the record is held by Brazil's Zizinho and Argentina's Norberto Mendez, who have 17 goals apiece.

Messi is coming into the Copa America in fine form, having registered 14 goals and 11 assists in 15 appearances across competitions for Inter Miami this season.
