Liverpool manager Arne Slot has highlighted one thing the Reds need to do to beat Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title. The Dutchman insisted that his side must win their difficult away games if they aspire to go all the way to win the league title.

Slot has made a solid impression since taking charge at Anfield in the summer from his predecessor Jurgen Klopp. Many questioned the Merseyside giants' decision to replace one of the best managers in the modern era with the 46-year-old.

However, the former AZ and Feyenoord manager has silenced his doubters and has enjoyed a stellar start to life at Liverpool. The Reds have won 11 of their opening 12 games across competitions and are atop the Premier League table with 21 points from eight games.

Arne Slot, however, reckons that Liverpool must do everything in their power to win the away games against big sides. The Dutchman was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano on X:

“To win this league, you need to win the difficult away games. We’re talking about Newcastle, Chelsea, City, Man United and Arsenal”.

Liverpool will take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, October 27, in what could be their biggest test so far this season. They currently lead Manchester City by one point and Arsenal by four points.

Alan Shearer fires warning to Arsenal ahead of their big game against Liverpool

Premier League great Alan Shearer insisted that Arsenal must maintain their discipline if they are to win the Premier League title. The Gunners have seen three red cards in the Premier League this season, the most among all clubs.

Ahead of their home fixture against Liverpool on Sunday, Shearer claimed that Mikel Arteta's side must keep their cool. He told Betfair via The Mirror:

"So far this season, Arsenal have had three Premier League matches where they have been shown a red card, and with nine points available, they’ve only taken two points. Whether you agree with the red card decisions or not, that must change."
"You can’t continue to play over an hour in games with ten men. Even in this week’s Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, with Ben White ’s yellow card in the first half, they took him off at half-time out of fear he could be sent off," Shearer added.

Shearer praised Arsenal players' desire to win games at any cost but highlighted that they must play within the rules. The former England striker, who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in 1994-95, said:

"It could be a combination of pressure and being too pumped up for games which is causing players to be sent off. I like that they’ve got a bit of a bite about them, they don’t like being beaten and when it doesn’t go their way they come together - that’s a good trait to have."
"But you’ve got to be disciplined in what you’re doing, and they were told when the referees went around the clubs before a ball was kicked this season to explain the rules, and what they will be clamping down on," he added.

The Gunners have been the biggest threat to Manchester City in the Premier League in the last two seasons. They narrowly missed out on the title on both occasions, losing the league by just five and two points, respectively.
