Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Liverpool could move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho in the summer. As per Jacobs, the Reds could consider Pacho as their pursuit of Leny Yoro looks to end in disappointment.

Yoro has been linked with Real Madrid and Jacobs claimed that the Merseysiders would only move for the teenager if he doesn't join Los Merengues. Otherwise, Pacho is an option worth keeping an eye on. He said on Playback (via The Boot Room):

"Pacho could be one to watch from Frankfurt still, Liverpool really like the player, and they would love Leny Yoro but they'll only move if they feel he's not going to Real Madrid."

Willian Pacho enjoyed a good 2023-24 season for Frankfurt, keeping 11 clean sheets in 44 appearances across competitions. The Ecuadorian centre-half made four appearances for his national side during Copa America 2024.

Pacho joined Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp in 2023 and is contracted with the club until the end of the 2027-28 season. As per Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old has an estimated market value of €35 million.

Harry Kane speaks about facing Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk at Euro 2024

While Liverpool are pursuing new defenders, club captain Virgil van Dijk remains the team's talisman at the back. The Dutchman is set to face England in the Euro 2024 semi-final on July 10 at Signal Iduna Park.

Van Dijk and Harry Kane are now set to lock horns and the England captain has reflected on their past duels. Kane said (via Liverpool.com):

"We have had some really good battles over the years from when he was at Southampton, at Liverpool. A lot of tough games, a lot of big games."

The Bayern Munich striker added that sometimes Van Dijk won the duel and on occasions, he got the upper hand. He added that a tough game awaits when they cross paths in the semi-final.

Kane has a losing record against Van Dijk so far in his career for club and country. Out of the 12 games he has faced the towering defender, Kane has ended up on the winning side twice and on the losing side eight times. Two other games have ended in draws.

Kane remains England's most reliable frontman despite failing to showcase his best form at Euro 2024 and has scored two goals.
