Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has overtaken Manchester United legend David Beckham in the all-time list for the highest number of assists in the Premier League. This came after Salah scored once and assisted twice in the Reds' 5-0 win over West Ham United in the league on Sunday (December 29).

Mohamed Salah has recorded 20 goals and 17 assists in 26 outings for Liverpool across competitions this season. According to a post by the official Premier League X handle, Salah now has 81 assists to his name in the league, standing 10 on the all-timers list.

After his two assists against West Ham, the Egyptian superstar has surpassed David Beckham, who had finished his career with 80 assists in the league.

Mohamed Salah is also the eighth-highest goalscorer in the Premier League, with 174 goals for his contribution as of writing. In the ongoing season, the Egypt international has scored 17 goals so far and is currently the highest goalscorer in the league.

However, the season is far from over and Salah will have to continue scoring in the latter half of the season to finish as top scorer and win the Golden Boot.

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah makes feelings clear about winning the Ballon d'Or in 2025

Shortly after the Reds' 5-0 demolition of West Ham United, Mohamed Salah addressed the possibility of winning the Ballon d'Or for his performance this season. The Egypt international said (via journalist Fabrizio Romano on X):

"Only thing in my mind is for Liverpool to win the Premier League."

Liverpool currently sit atop the league table with 45 points off 18 games. With a game in hand, they are eight points clear of second-placed Nottingham Forest. Mohamed Salah has won the league only once — in the 2019-20 season under the guidance of former coach Jurgen Klopp.

The Premier League only came into being in the 1992-93 season. Before that, Liverpool had won 18 league titles, making it a total of 19 to their name. The Reds are second only to Manchester United who have 20 titles to their name. The Red Devils won seven titles before the Premier League's inception and a record 13 after it began.

Given the Merseysiders' form this season, they are among the top contenders to win their second Premier League title this season. The Reds will return to action after the New Year break to face Manchester United in the league on January 5.
