Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has responded to questions about teammate Mohamed Salah's comments on his future with the Reds. The Egyptian forward faces an uncertain future at Anfield as his contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Superstar attacker Salah caused a stir on and off the pitch in his side's 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday. After scoring twice to lead his side to victory, the 32-year-old revealed that the club had not made him a contract offer, implying that he could be on his way out in the summer.

Talking with the media ahead of the Reds facing reigning champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, November 27, Andy Robertson shared his thoughts on the situation. He described Salah as a great professional, pointing out that it's not his place to talk about the contract situation of other players in the team.

“Salah’s words on his future? It’s not a topic for us as players. All I can say is: look at Mo today, yesterday, he's the ultimate professional,” Robertson said (via Fabrizio Romano on X).
“It goes for all three of them, Virgil and Trent too, they are so focused on the next game and being leaders.”

The trio of Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all set to be out of a contract in the summer. Reports indicate that the club has not held talks with any of them over an extension of their contracts.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot will want his players to put these thoughts behind them when they take to the pitch against Real Madrid in the Champions League. With 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances this season, Mohamed Salah continues to play a key role for his new manager.

Liverpool receive boost as star defender set to return against Real Madrid

Liverpool have received positive news from the treatment room as vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold has been passed fit to face Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Englishman had been out injured since being subbed off in the first half of his side's win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on November 9.

In his press conference ahead of the match against Los Blancos, Reds manager Arne Slot stated that the right-back will be back in the squad. The Dutch tactician, however, pointed out that he is not ready to start and may only get some minutes off the bench in the second half.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold is in the squad to face Real Madrid but he is not available to start. He can maybe make a few minutes, in an ideal world he won't,” Slot said (via Fabrizio Romano on X).

Academy graduate Conor Bradley has deputized for Alexander-Arnold in his absence, and is expected to do so against the Spanish champions as well. The Liverpool manager will be delighted to get the 26-year-old back ahead of a testing run of fixtures for his side.
