Luis Figo has raised his concerns over whether Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal will end up winning Euro 2024. His main issue is regarding the team's challenges in the group stages, which were rather simple.

Portugal were put into a group that didn't comprise any of the big teams of the tournament. Resultantly, they ensured a top-spot finish, level on points with second-placed Turkey. Georgia were third, and the Czech Republic finished fourth to wrap up their campaign after this stage of the tournament.

During these stages, Roberto Martinez and Co. managed to win two games and lost their final group tie against Georgia. Most recently, they competed in a thrilling Round-of-16 match with Slovenia, eventually beating their opponents 3-0 on penalities after a goalless draw.

Despite his country's failure to play some of the bigger nations, Figo still puts them as one of the favorites to win Euro 2024 and said in an interview with Rio Ferdinand:

"For me, Portugal is one of the favorites to win the competition. It's a mix of young and experienced players. The biggest doubt I have is that we had a very easy qualification to the knockout stages.
"We didn't play against big teams. So let's see how the team reacts in big and important games because it's knockouts."

After having made it through to the quarterfinal of this year's European Championships, Portugal will be up against France in this stage of the competition. They're scheduled to take on Les Bleus on Friday (July 5).

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has predicted Portugal to have a successful Euro 2024 campaign, claiming that they have the squad to go all the way. He also placed England in the same bracket.

Both teams have made it through to the quarterfinals and The Three Lions will be up against Switzerland on Saturday (July 6). Speaking to BBC Sport, Rooney said (via GIVEMESPORT):

"England have to be looking at winning the competition. I also have a good feeling for Portugal, they have got a really good squad, good individuals. They will have a good go."

The biggest worry for Portugal heading into these crunch matches will be surrounding the form of captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who is yet to score in this year's competition.
