Fans slammed Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund on social media after his poor performance in their 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday. Both English giants clashed in the Premier League at Anfield, where the hosts were widely expected to secure the win. However, the Red Devils fought back and forced them to share the points, against all odds.

While it might have been a remarkable performance from United players to slow down the high-flying Reds, Rasmus Hojlund disappointed the fans. Starting the game as the lone striker up front, he had the difficult task of holding off Reds centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.

However, he was unable to improve Manchester United's attacking prowess in the final third. Aside from a big chance, which he missed, the 21-year-old striker went missing for much of the game. He made just seven accurate passes and lost four duels in the 86 minutes he played.

Fans took notice of his poor performance against Liverpool and slammed the Dutch striker on social media platform X with comments like these:

"Maguire has better movement than hojlund lmaooo" a fan mocked.
"Bro hojlund is a disgrace to the whole league" another fan complained.
"What Gapko did was what Hojlund was supposed to do. Confidence level is the different." a third remarked.
"70 million on Hojlund should trigger a fraud investigation sha..." another fan was upset.
"Ngl if Hojlund was in that Lisandro position he’s not scoring that at all. Hojlund needs to be greedy man, he needs to want to score, I feel he lacks that dawg to score." a fan analyzed.
"Hojlund you are a disgrace to the world" another fan slammed him.

Bruno Fernandes questions Manchester United players after draw to Liverpool

Bruno Fernandes has questioned his Manchester United teammates and their lack of consistency, following an impressive 2-2 draw to Liverpool. The Red Devils were largely not expected to pick up a result at Anfield, following their run of four losses in a row across all competitions.

However, against the hosts, they exceeded expectations, with Lisandro Martinez opening the scoring in the 52nd minute. Cody Gakpo equalized for the Reds in the 59th minute before Mohamed Salah scored a penalty to put them ahead (70'). United were unrelenting and eventually found the equalizer 10 minutes later through Amad Diallo (80').

After the game, Bruno Fernandes told Sky Sports (via Tribuna):

"We’ve been criticised and fairly, the position in the table shows that. We can’t be happy with the draw, we need points more than they do.
"We can't be satisfied. I'm pretty upset. If we can show this at Anfield, why can't we do this every week? We need to be aware that we need much more from ourselves."

Next, Manchester United have an FA Cup third-round match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on January 12. Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on January 8.
