Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov for a €50 million package, as per reports. The Uzbekistan international has emerged as a priority target for Pep Guardiola's side this month amid their struggles with injuries in the first half of the season.

England international John Stones has yet to play consecutive league games for Manchester City this season, while the duo of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake have spent time on the sidelines, as well. Their defensive injury problems have forced the club to move into the January market to shore up their rearguard for the remainder of the campaign.

A report from Sky journalist Patrick Berger has revealed that the Premier League champions are set to reach an agreement with Lens for the transfer of 20-year-old Khusanov. The report indicates that an agreement is imminent, as the Cityzens are prepared to splash a total of €50 million on the youngster.

Pep Guardiola's side are keen to get their business done early this month, seeing as they have approached a number of transfer targets early. They have agreements in place on personal terms with both Omar Marmoush and Vitor Reis for this month, and are in talks with their respective clubs.

Real Madrid and Chelsea were also linked with 18-cap Uzbekistan international Khusanov, who has been at Lens for just 18 months. Manchester City appear set to beat both sides to his signature, and the youngster looks set to become their first signing this month.

Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian teenager Vitor Reis from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, as per multiple reports. The Cityzens are looking to sign some of the best young players around to shore up their backline, which has let in 27 goals in the Premier League this season.

Pep Guardiola's side have an agreement in place with Reis over personal terms, with a long-term contract in place for the teenager. The Premier League giants would look to continue to negotiate with their Brazilian counterparts for the transfer of the defender, with a €40 million fee set to be sufficient. Palmeiras already turned down an offer of £25 million for Vitor Reis from Brighton & Hove Albion this month.

Teenage sensation Reis is the latest breakout star from Palmeiras after the duo of Estevao Willian and Endrick, who have joined Chelsea and Real Madrid respectively. The 18-year-old was on the radar of Real Madrid and a number of other European sides, who looked to snap him up from Palmeiras.
