Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly agreed to let Dutch centre-forward Joshua Zirkzee leave on loan in the January transfer window. The Schiedam-born striker was signed by the Red Devils in the summer of 2024 from Bologna for a reported transfer fee of €42.50 million.

However, the 23-year-old has been underwhelming for Ruben Amorim's side, registering just four goals and two assists in 26 appearances across competitions. In the Premier League, he has scored just three goals and a solitary assist in 18 appearances. Furthermore, the Dutch youngster has maintained a passing accuracy of just 76 percent in the league and has missed four big chances so far.

According to a report by Tuttosport (quoted by @centredevils on X), Manchester United have agreed to loan out Zirkzee in the January transfer window. The Dutchman's contract with the Red Devils doesn't run out until 2029 and a loan move might help him gain game time and confidence before returning to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, a report by Calciomercato has revealed that the striker is a transfer target for Italian giants Juventus. Juventus is currently managed by Thiago Motta, who was the former manager of Zirkzee during his time in Bologna.

Ruben Amorim opened up about Manchester United's troubles after the Red Devils lost 3-0 against Bournemouth at home on December 22. At present, the side is groveling at number 14 on the Premier League table with just 22 points in 18 games.

The Portuguese tactician was appointed as the manager after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag. Despite the change in management, Manchester United have failed to pick up momentum so far.

Amorim opened up about the club's problems in a recent interview via Sky Sports. He said:

"It's a difficult question to answer, and we have to know that: don't let this become normal. I understand that it's a tough moment and it's on me. Since the first day I arrived, it's on me because I'm responsible for the team."
"We cannot think about that, we have to think about improving, to understand the context and not focus on what happened in the past. The present is this, what we have to do in the future is [not let this] happen again. If I knew, I would solve all the problems of the club," Amorim added.

Ruben Amorim and his side will play their last game of the year against Newcastle United on December 30 at home. The Red Devils will be looking to end the year with a win against Eddie Howe's team.
