Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly pushing the club to sign Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen in 2025, as per Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes. The Danish defender's contract with the La Liga giants will expire in the summer of 2026.
Christensen joined La Blaugrana from Chelsea in July 2022 on a free transfer. He was an important figure in the playing XI at Stamford Bridge as he made 161 appearances for the senior team of Chelsea across all competitions. The 28-year-old also gave promising performances for Barcelona after he joined the club in 2022.
However, due to injury issues, the Danish defender failed to stay consistent in the starting XI. The 28-year-old is on the sidelines due to Achilles tendon irritation and is expected to return in January. Andreas Christensen has played 75 matches for Barcelona, scoring three goals and providing four assists across all competitions.

Nevertheless, his performance has been enough to catch Ruben Amorim's attention. As per the aforementioned report, Andreas Christensen can leave Barcelona on a loan deal, which will eventually be turned into a €18 million permanent transfer.
The Portuguese tactician sees the former Chelsea star as an upgrade for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. Having played in the Premier League, the 28-year-old's experience can also help the Red Devils. Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League with 22 points in 18 matches.
