Manchester United's transfer plans have received a shot in the arm after Real Madrid reportedly decided against pursuing a move for AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez. The Red Devils are in the market for a new left-back due to the injury issues of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

One of the captains at the San Siro, France international Hernandez is regarded as one of the best in the world in his position. The 27-year-old defender has emerged as a target for several sides, including Real Madrid and Manchester United, for 2025.

However, a report from Fichajes.net has revealed that the left-back will not move to the Santiago Bernabeu after Los Blancos decided against pursuing a deal. The Spanish giants are prepared to turn their attention elsewhere — in their search for a new full-back. This will depend on their sale of Fran Garcia, as they handed Ferland Mendy a new deal.

Manchester United have received a boost following the news, as they have had a long-standing interest in Theo Hernandez. Ruben Amorim's side need a player with attacking and defensive qualities to play in their system, making him an ideal target for the club.

Hernandez is said to be valued at around €50 million, significantly more than any other player in his position the Red Devils have been linked with. Real Madrid deciding against pursuing a move for Hernandez, who was on their books from 2017 until 2019, making 23 appearances for the club, directly boosts the Red Devils' bid to sign him.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of left-backs as they look to finally address the position in 2025. They will hope to prise Hernandez from his club as his addition will greatly elevate the quality of their squad.

Real Madrid linked with move for Manchester United duo - Reports

Real Madrid are interested in signing two players on the books of Manchester United, according to a talkSPORT report. The Spanish outfit are in dire need of defensive reinforcement in the January transfer window and have been linked with a number of players in this department.

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot and centre-back Lisandro Martinez are targets for Carlo Ancelotti's side in the January transfer window. The Red Devils are prepared to sanction the sales of most of their underperforming squad for the right price, including regulars like Martinez and Dalot.

Real Madrid will look at the injuries to Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Joan Martinez and plan their transfer business. The duo of Dalot and Martinez will provide sizeable cover for their defensive positions if they manage to sign them.
