Manchester United identify 19-year-old Eredivisie prodigy as transfer target and future prospect: Reports

Manchester United have identified Feyenoord youngster Antonio Milambo as a perfect fit for their club and a potential signing in the 2025 summer transfer window. The 19-year-old midfielder is on the radar of Liverpool, having also played under Arne Slot in his time as manager of the Dutch club.

The appointment of the club's hierarchy by the INEOS Group has seen Manchester United gravitate towards signing top-rated youngsters, as they did with Leny Yoro and Chido Obi-Martin in the summer. The new directors are looking to build the future of the club on young players who have been identified to have great potential.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the Red Devils have long been interested in Antonio Milambo, whose contract with Feyenoord runs until 2027. The young attacking midfielder made his professional debut for the club aged just 16 years in 2021, becoming their youngest-ever player ahead of Georginio Wijnaldum.

Milambo, a Netherlands U-21 international, has scored six goals in 16 appearances across all competitions this season, after making 20 appearances in the entirety of the 2023-24 season. The teenager scored a brace in the UEFA Champions League against Benfica on October 23 and was named the Player of the Match afterwards.

Feyenoord will be keen to keep their young talent, but a move to the Premier League will always appeal to the midfielder, who was born to a Congolese footballer. Milambo has long been on the radar of Manchester United, and a move for him may come up in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are looking to make a move to sign Napoli ace Alex Meret once the latter's contract expires with the Partenopei in the summer. The Italy international has emerged as a target for the Red Devils after Altay Bayindir has so far failed to compete favorably with Andre Onana for their number-one shirt.

Napoli goalkeeper Meret was part of their Scudetto-winning squad in 2023 but is set to run out of a contract at the end of the 2024-25 season. A report from Sport Mediaset has indicated that Ruben Amorim's side will look to sign the 27-year-old goalkeeper to bolster their ranks, and Bayindir will leave the club.

Napoli has reportedly offered Meret, who has made 11 league appearances for them this season, a new contract, which he has yet to agree to. The Italian is considering offers from elsewhere and could end up in the colors of the Red Devils in 2025.
