Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Red Devils' defender Noussair Mazraoui will be available for his side's clash against Brentford this weekend. He made the comments during a pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against The Bees at Old Trafford on October 19, 2024.
Manchester United will be hoping to return to winning ways this weekend after a shaky start to the 2024-25 football campaign that sees them sitted 14th on the Premier League table with eight points after seven games thus far.
Erik ten Hag's men have only managed just two wins in the opening seven games in the league this season. They have also lost three and drawn two of the remaining games, with the most recent, being a 0-0 draw away to Aston Villa before the international break.
Next up for Manchester United will be a home game against 11th placed Brentford at Old Trafford this weekend. Ten Hag's men have been handed a major injury boost ahead of the game, as right-back Mazraoui is expected to be available for selection.
The Moroccan international returned to training with the first-team on thursday, after undergoing a corrective heart operation following complaints of palpitations during their last league game away to Aston Villa as per ESPN sources.
Speaking about the player's availability for the game against Brentford tomorrow, Ten Hag said via Fabrizio Romano:
"Noussair Mazraoui is available for selection."
He also added:
"Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire will be out for few weeks."
Erik ten Hag reacts to his future at Manchester United
The Dutch tactician has come under intense pressure at Old Trafford this season after a disappointing start to the ongoing 2024-25 football campaign.
Manchester United have picked up just three wins across all competitions this season, with many fans calling for the sack of the Dutch tactician, who is currently in his third season at the club.
When asked what he thinks about his future at the club, ten Hag accused the media of speculating lies about his future. He further stated that he is very much on the same page with the club owners and is determined to turn United's fortunes around.
"The only noise is coming from some of you guys in the media, bringing up stories, creating fairytales, bringing lies because we are all on one page this club,” he said via MSN. “Internally in the club it is quiet."
He added:
“Of course, we are discussing the position where we are. We are unhappy with the position we are in and we have to turn to the corner but ultimately we are quiet, we are composed, we stay where we are, we stick to the plan and we are very convinced we will make a success.”
