Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has given Manchester United an F grade in his mid-season report. The Premier League season is almost at its halfway point, with the clubs now preparing for the busy festive period. Carragher gave his former club Liverpool an A.

Carragher said he would have given Arne Slot's side an A+ had they not dropped points at home to Nottingham Forest and Fulham. Forest, managed by former Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo, received an A+ from Carragher for their impressive showings this season.

Liverpool lead the league table currently with 39 points as Chelsea and Arsenal trail them closely at second and third position with 35 and 33 points, respectively. Defending champions Manchester City were given an E+, having lost six out of their 17 matches.

Manchester United have been extremely poor this season, and are currently placed 13th in the league table. They sacked former manager Erik ten Hag midway through the campaign, and brought in Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP. However, the Portuguese has also found the going tough in the Premier League.

Liverpool and Chelsea are separated by just four points in the Premier League table

Liverpool and Chelsea are separated by just four points in the Premier League table, but the Reds have a game in hand. The two sides are expected to fight it off for the title. Arsenal, who are third, are six points off the Merseyside club, having played a game extra.

Carragher also spoke about Marcus Rashford's repeated exclusion from the side and opined that the latter's future was possibly over at the club. For Manchester City, Carragher said they were in desperate need of a rebuild ahead of their next campaign.
