Garnacho came in fifth in the rankings with a market value of €45 million. Irish forward Evan Ferguson is fourth on the list, with a market value of €50 million. Manchester City’s new signing Savinho is in the median position on the list with a market value of €50 million. Portugal’s João Neves is in the second position behind Barcelona’s Gavi with a market value of €55 million.
Alejandro Garnacho broke into Manchester United's senior team in 2022 but for most games, he was an unused substitute. He made his debut for United in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League match against Chelsea at Old Trafford on April 28, 2022. He came on for Anthony Elanga in the 91st minute.
He established himself as a first-team regular in the 2023–24 season, a season remembered for his stunning bicycle kick goal against Everton at Goodison Park. Erik ten Hag recognized the achievements of Argentine players Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez with their country at Copa America 2024.
Argentina won the 2024 Copa America as they defeated Colombia 1-0 in the final in USA. The Dutch manager was pleased with their achievements and presented awards to both players. He highlighted their winning mentality, using it to motivate the rest of his players. He said in the video (The Independent):
"I want to bring Licha and Garna forward because here at United, we need players with that winning mentality, and they know how to win," said Ten Hag in the club’s video. "Also, we want to get some accreditation for a big moment and what they achieved with their country at the Copa America."
The Red Devils lost the FA Community Shield to their local rivals Manchester City on August 10. They will now be keen to redeem themselves in their debut game of the 2024–25 Premier League season. They will kickstart the campaign as they play Fulham at home on Friday, August 16.
